'05 GMC Sierra

From the base model to additional trim levels and right down to the new hybrid version, the 2005 GMC Sierra is a pickup truck that looks less like the rest of its class. It can also be distinguished thanks to the added power from the formidable V8 engine.

The 2005 GMC Sierra has a number of options available for its engine. While the base model with the regular cab incorporates a V6 engine with a capacity of 4.3 liters, a more powerful 5.3-liter V8 engine is provided under the hood of the Crew Cab model. Additional power is available in the extended cab models with all-wheel drive, the horsepower for those models of the 2005 Sierra being as high as 310 horsepower.

'07 GMC Sierra

The standard workhorse model of the 2007 Sierra includes a V6 engine having a capacity of 4.3 liters with 195 horsepower, while other trim levels include more powerful engines. An example is the Denali model having a massive 403 horsepower-generating 6.2-liter V8. All models with the exception of the Denali include automatic four-speed transmissions.

The most glaring improvement about the 2007 GMC Sierra is the styling of its interiors. The dual-toned schemes add ambiance to the refined ergonomics, which in turn start from acoustics to the improved seating arrangements. From cup holders to the single-touch lane changing utility, this truck bears prospects for an incredible riding experience.

'08 GMC Sierra

The 2008 GMC Sierra adds all off the best features and options a driver could want. In the 2008 model year, GMC’s full-sized pickup truck now gets additional perks for improved off-road performance in one of the trim levels.

The Sierra is still available in extended and regular cab models along with the crew cab style. For better accommodations, one should definitely go for extended or crew cab models, as these models seat as many as six adults at a time.

The 2008 GMC Sierra now offers the option between a luxury vehicle and a high-powered workhorse. The engine can be as moderate as the 4.3-liter V6 offering 195 horsepower, or as powerful as the 6.0-liter 367 horsepower V8.

A number of features including the optional Autotrac traction control device, an anti-skid mechanism, an anti-lock braking system and multiple airbags make the 2008 Sierra one of the safest and best pickup trucks on the road. Four-wheel drive is also available as an option.

2007 GMC Sierra

The 2007 GMC Sierra is the first version of the latest generation, with improvements made for this generation in the form of new designs and improved performance. For 2007, the Sierra is offered in five choices to offer a wide range of variety to consumers.

Starting with the 4.3L V-6 engine producing 195HP and 260FTLB of torque, moving onto the 4.8L V-8 with 270HP and 285FTL of torque, then onto the 5.3L V-8 boasting 295HP and 335FTLB of torque in addition to the 5.3L Flex Fuel version that allows drivers to run alternative fuel sources such as E-85 Ethanol.

The newest engine to the lineup for the 2007 GMC Sierra is the 6.0L High-Output V-8 engine pushing 345HP and 385FTLB of torque. Transmission choices remain as either a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.

2008 GMC Sierra

The 2008 GMC Sierra is the latest installment from GM of their full-size pickup trucks offered on the market. This generation of the Sierra features the famed GMT900 platform with enhanced engine performance and updated features.

The new GMC Sierra has been named North American Truck of The Year with excellence in performance and style rarely seen on such large pickup trucks. Engine choices have been enhanced for the 2008 GMC Sierra:

Engine Options:

  • 4.3L V-6 with 195HP and 260FTLB of torque.

  • 4.8L V-8 producing 295HP

  • 5.3L V-8 pushing 315HP

  • 6.0L High-Output V-8 boasting 367HP

Fuel economy for the new Sierra has been rated as high as 14mpg in the city and 20mpg on the highway for the rear-wheel-drive platform, while the four-wheel-drive platform sumps a little lower.

2005 GMC Sierra

The 2005 GMC Sierra is among the latest lineup of full-size pickup trucks available on the market from General Motors.
